We often get asked whether or not SEO Is still worth investing in. There are some people that will tell you that it is dead and no longer worth paying for. However, for our practitioners, we’ve seen great results from SEO. Since search engine optimization isn’t an exact science, it takes continual testing to see what’s working and what isn’t.
Here are a few things we’ve seen working really well for our offices:
1. Areas Served Pages Continue To Rank
We’ve read articles published by a handful of people in the digital marketing industry that have said areas served pages are not doing as well as they used to. For our clients, we haven’t seen this be the case. As part of our monthly strategy, we write two new pages that focus on the service the office provides in the local city they are located (or their patients are located).
At this time, we have continued to see results from this type of page, so we’ll continue writing this type of content. However, we’re currently experimenting with writing other types of local page content that is working well for others.
2. Google Business Is Affected By The Information on A Website
Every week when we log into our practitioners’ Google Business profiles, we see that Google is recommending updates on the information section of the listing. Sometimes these updates are way off base, but usually they accurately reflect the information that’s on the website associated with the listing.
While there is a lot that you can do to help your Google Business profile show up higher in search results, the information on your website is weighing in more than ever. We’ve seen Google recommend deleting services that were listed on the profile that are not listed on the website. This is why it’s very important to have a page of content for all services that you offer.
3. Well-Written Content Continues To Rank
Regardless of your strategies for SEO, without a solid content plan, you cannot expect your site to rank as well. Google recently released an update that favors helpful content that has been written on your site…rather than copy and pasted content or filler content. Since our writers focus on adding value for the reader by answering commonly asked questions and explaining services, our client’s haven’t seen a dip in website traffic on account of the update.
Anytime you write a blog post or page of content for your website, it’s important to write information that your potential patient’s are looking for. The more information you can give on your site, the better it will be for your site’s ability to show up in search results.
